Shipping & Returns

 

Note: Shipments to P.O. boxes can only be sent via United States Postal Service (USPS) Standard shipping. You may also be limited to one or two shipping options for larger items, for shipments to certain destinations, and for certain oversized items (such as refrigerators, for example) that require delivery.
Shipments to APO and FPO addresses are also limited to standard shipping, but involve slightly different timelines.

 

 

Shipping costs will be noted per item during the checkout process or you may estimate shipping costs from the cart before checkout. We will automatically default to the least expensive method of shipping available, but you will have the option to upgrade your shipping to a different service during the checkout process. If Standard shipping is not available for the item you selected, your shipping level will default to Expedited service.

Shipping cost is calculated on a "per item" or "per pound" basis and is based on the level of shipping service selected (Standard, Expedited, Express).


Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii
There is no extra shipping fee to Alaska and Hawaii with Standard service. There is, however, an additional UPS surcharge of $10 per item for items shipped with Expedited service, and $15 per item for Express service.

 

 Shipping Multiple Items/Multiple Addresses

If you ordered two or more items, you can choose separate shipping options for each during the checkout process. For example, you can have one item shipped Expedited (for an extra cost) and have the other item sent Standard. Your basic shipping options are Standard, Expedited, Express and in-store pickup at a Digital City location near you. Due to size and weight considerations, some items may require delivery.

If you want to send multiple quantities of the same item to different shipping addresses, you need to place separate orders. However, if you are buying at least 2 different items and want to send them to more than one address, you can select the option to ship to multiple addresses during the checkout process. Simply specify the delivery address for each item.

Some items may require scheduled delivery to your home or business due to size and weight. These items include larger TVs (37" or larger), appliances and furniture. During checkout, you can schedule a date to receive your delivery item(s). The cost for delivery of oversized items is the same online and in the stores.

Usually, standard delivery time frames are a two-hour window between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. We are unable to accommodate specific delivery times within these delivery windows. Please try to select a delivery day where you are available all day, and make sure an adult (age 18 or older) is home to sign for the delivery of your item(s). A call will be made to you the day before delivery to review your order and advise you of your two-hour delivery time frame. Time frames cannot be changed. Please review your order information (address, phone numbers and product measurements) before completing your order online.

The minimum delivery fee of $70 as seen during the checkout process is an 'estimated' charge. Additional charges, fees and expenses may apply beyond this for services and will depend upon the proximity of your zip code from your local Digital City store. (Note: Not all zip codes are eligible for delivery. This can be validated during the checkout process.)

Delivery of these items includes free recycling, which offers removal of the item(s) being replaced on a one-for-one basis. Any recycled products must be completely disconnected (power, cables, water hoses, gas lines) before the delivery appointment arrival time. Also, please note that you must make the delivery team aware if your recycled unit is over 250 lbs during your call the day before delivery (for example – CRT and console televisions, or sub-zero refrigerators). All items removed must be emptied.

If your order includes additional products that do not require delivery, they will be shipped separately via UPS or USPS.

Deliveries to your home or business are managed by Digital City Home Delivery. (Note: If your product was a special order, please see the Special Order Product Details section.) The delivery pathway must be clear of all obstacles and have at least 1/2 inch clearance on all sides to gain access to the room of your choice. Any doors or other obstacles that limit the delivery pathway must be cleared before the delivery team arrives at your home.

Our delivery service includes delivery into the room of your choice. We will unpack the item and, if requested, dispose of the packaging. For an additional cost, we can provide expert installation of home entertainment components, appliances, mobile electronics and computer upgrades. PLEASE NOTE: For Fitness Equipment and Outdoor Living purchases, we are only able to provide delivery to the threshold of your residence. No unpacking or setup is included.

Scheduling a delivery has never been easier!

Delivery Area
The delivery area for online purchases is the same as that for Digital City stores. As our store network grows, however, so does our delivery area. Check back periodically if your address is not currently within our delivery area.

 

1. Schedule your Product Delivery

  • After adding the product to your cart, click Checkout and sign in. (If you are checking out as a guest, you will need to register your information before reaching the step below.)
  • On the Schedule Delivery Date screen, choose an available delivery date button on the calendar provided
  • Continue to the Payment Information screen and complete your credit card information
  • On the final Review and Submit screen, be sure to verify the delivery address and day you selected for delivery.


2. IMPORTANT Confirmation of Delivery Information

  • A delivery agent will contact you by phone the day before your scheduled delivery date to confirm a 2-hour appointment time window.
  • Standard delivery time windows are in 2-hour increments from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please make sure an adult (age 18 or older) is home to sign for the delivery of your item(s). You may also be able to reschedule and cancel deliveries by calling (408) 615-8188.

 

Oversized Item Delivery

 

  • Position the TV on an existing stand
  • Connect the TV to a single, existing RF source within the room, such as a cable, satellite or antenna signal

Delivery of a television does not include:

  • Integration of A/V source components
  • Programming of universal-type "learning" remotes
  • Hanging TVs on the wall
  • Assembly of tabletop stands (included with most LCD and plasma TVs). The assembly will be scheduled for a day after the delivery date.

If your delivery includes an appliance:

  • We will connect the new unit and run a test cycle to confirm basic functionality (washers, dryers, refrigerators, ranges)
  • Please note that in some states, gas installation services must be purchased for connection (gas dryers and ranges)
  • All dishwashers must have installation services purchased
  • If an electric range or dryer is purchased, you must also have a 220-volt outlet in your home for connection
  • For all free-standing ranges, the driver will also install an anti-tip device. This is required by the manufacturer to prevent accidental tipping over of the units while the door is open. If you decline installation of the anti-tip bracket, the delivery service will be modified and not include installation
